2) When will I receive my completed website?
As soon as we receive your deposit payment, we begin working on your project. We’ll need information from you in order to come up with an appropriate design suggestion that fits your needs. We’ll meet for a “design interview” to collect the information we need from you in order to come up with an appropriate design that fits your needs. In most cases, we show you a website design within 5-7 business days of our design interview meeting. We then incorporate your feedback and page content. Most projects are completed and LIVE within 3-4 weeks.
3) Who owns my website?
We believe your website is an important asset of your business.
Unlike many website services, we do NOT hold your website hostage, nor do we charge you unnecessary fees. You won’t be required to pay us any monthly fees to keep your website live on the internet. When you purchase one of our websites, we register your website domain name in YOUR name. We’ll then provide you with the account information you need to assure you have ownership and control over your website domain name and files. You have perpetual use of your website.
You have ownership of your website and copyright on images and content that you provide. There are no subscription or licensing fees. Due to our licensing agreements with our providers, you may not resell your website, or use images that we provide on your marketing materials without our permission.
4) How much will it cost to maintain my website live on the internet?
There are NO monthly subscription fees or hidden fees related to your website. We help you purchase your domain (website) name and hosting service for you (in your business name and ownership). You will pay your hosting service directly – hosting is required -this is the service that maintains the files for your website and makes your site visible to the public, worldwide. Typical hosting costs are between $10-25/month depending on the level of service you select.
You’ll receive an email notification from your hosting service to renew in 10 months. Your renewal fees are approximately $120-240 – depending on the level of service you select – for hosting annually after the first year. Domain name registrations are typically $10-15 annually. 5) Can I add pages, or special features, to my website later on?
Yes. The website you receive includes the WordPress backend “content management system,” which allows you to login to your website from any internet browser and edit/add pages, photos, etc. You can grow your website to as many pages and blog posts as you like. You will have access to video tutorials to get you started. Our clients find editing their website page content very easy.
If you prefer, you can hire us to make changes to your website. The rate to make future design and content changes on your website is $75/hour, pro-rated to the quarter hour if over one hour. The minimum billable time for changes on your website is one $50.
6) Who will I work with on my website project?
You will always and only be speaking with Virginia, who is managing your project. You’ll never get a call center, or Assistant.
7) What will my custom designed website cost?
Most independent financial advisors (1-2 person offices) spend about $1500 on their custom website project. Larger financial firms have more content and requirements can spend between $1800-2400 for their project. You’ll receive a detailed Estimate for your project. If you make a special design request during our work together that may add cost, you will be asked to approve any additional costs.
8) How much work will be required of me for designing the website?
You hired a website designer to take the design work and ‘heavy lifting’ off of you. We create a design concept for you after we interview you about your design preferences and requirements. Based on the information and content that you provide, we will suggest and design a custom HOME page layout and organize your content. We purchase stock photos/graphics for your site to give you copyright permission to use them. You will be asked to complete our “design interview/questionnaire” – and to provide this basic information required for your site: YOUR BIO/WHO YOU ARE; LIST OF YOUR SERVICES-PRODUCTS; YOUR CONTACT INFORMATION.
